26 December 2009 Martin Rooney 2 Comments

West Dunbartonshire Schools were rated second bottom of national school league tables in 2009 for the percentage of S5 pupils gaining 5 plus Highers. The West Dunbartonshire average was 6% well below the Scottish average of 10% and only slightly above Glasgow who had an average of 5% of S5 pupils gaining 5 plus highers. The best performimg local authorities were East Renfrewshire with an average of 28% and East Dunbartonshire whose average was 22%. Not all the data for West Dunbartonshire schools was available due to the closure of Braidfield High School and the recent merger of St. Andrews High school and St. Columba’s High School to form St. Peter the Apostle High School.
