COUNCILLOR GAIL CASEY 

Gail Casey grew up in Clydebank.  Gail  attended Clydebank College where she graduated in business administration, she also worked for the Trade Union AEEU for 22 years, and was a shop steward for the admin staff. Gail now works part time for Quarriers in their Homelife Project in Drumchapel.

Gail Casey lives in Dalmuir, Clydebank with her husband and daughter who was also educated in Clydebank within Gail’s council ward.

POLITICAL CAREER

Gail Casey was first elected in 2003 as councilor for Dalmuir and Central.  She served this ward from 2003 to 2007 until re organization when she was elected in 2007 with the largest personal vote in West Dunbartonshire.  Her new constituency is  the Waterfront Ward which includes Whitecrook, Clydebank Central, Dalmuir and Old Kilpatrick.  Gail holds weekly surgeries every Tuesday in all parts of her ward and can also be contacted at home and the Council Buildings at Rosebery Place, Clydebank.

Gail Casey served as the Convener of Community Participation from 2003 to 2007 under the Labour Administration and was also the Labour Group representative on Clydebank Rebuilt and Dalmuir Park Housing Association.

Gail has been a Labour Party and trade union member for all of her adult life and comes from a proud socialist family with strong links to the Labour and trade union movement. 

Gail’s brother Gordon Casey was a Labour Councillor in Clydebank and was the Housing Convener as well as leader of the Council for the Labour Party, in Clydebank Burgh.
